Every key performance indicator (KPI) is available to view in two different ways, current and historical, and each view can be used for different types of analysis.
The current view is the latest information for that KPI. This view offers the most up-to-date information, and you can take immediate action, if necessary, after analysing a current view.
The historical view is information over a period of time. These views are useful when analysing long-term performance and can help you plan for the future.
Since data within a KPI view is gathered from the files/records in your WinTen² software programs, and since this data is always changing from day to day during your normal housing authority operations, the current view needs to be periodically "refreshed" with all the new, changed data.
How often the current view information is updated is called the “current refresh frequency.” The refresh frequency also differs for each KPI. For some KPIs, it makes sense to update the information on a daily basis, while for others it may only be appropriate to update on a monthly basis.
In order to analyse the KPI over time and discover trends, the KPI data needs to be archived, or saved, at different points in time. How often an archive, or “snapshot,” of the KPI data is created is called the “historical archive frequency.” Again, the archive frequency is different for each KPI. For some KPI's, it makes sense to archive data on a monthly basis, while for others it may only be appropriate to archive on a yearly basis.

to access the HIP Online Help Center. (To access the Help Center, your agency needs an internet connection).
All the data displayed in HIP KPI's can be associated to an existing WinTen² report or multiple reports. Knowing the related WinTen² reports can be helpful in investigating issues in your agency. The related reports for HIP KPI's are listed in this HIP Online Help Center in each KPI's specific topic. Please see the Key Performance Indicators topic for a central access point to all KPI topics.
The drill-down feature allows you to click on sections of a KPI view to focus, or pinpoint, on more specific information within the view. For more information on drill-downs, please see the Customizing KPI Views topic.
